Many messaging apps allow us to send messages directly and immediately, including Wechat, WhatsApp, Telegram, Facebook Messenger and so on.
What is Telegram?
Telegram is one of the most popular messaging applications. You can install it to your phone or computer.
However, you may want to switch to another app and deactivate your Telegram account because you don’t like Telegram or have only a few friends using Telegram. Then, this how-to will be helpful to you.
We will teach you to permanently delete your telegram account in two ways:
Telegram has a self-destruct feature that will automatically delete your account if you are inactive for a certain period.
In other words, your account will be deleted if you remain inactive for six months by default. What you should keep in mind is that this feature can not be disabled. You should be aware of self-destruction if you do not intend to delete your account.
To delete your telegram account by self-destruction, please follow the instructions below:
Open the Telegram app.
Tap the menu icon in the upper left corner of the page.
Click on “Privacy and Security”.
Scroll down and tap “Delete My Account if away for”.
Select the period for which self-destruction is to be performed.
Wait until your account self-destructs.
Delete Telegram account manually
If you do not want to wait for more than a month, you can manually delete it.
Go via a web browser to the page for deleting the telegram account.
Enter the telephone number with which you have created the telegram account in international format.
Type in the confirmation code that you receive in the telegram app.
Click on “Disable account” and tap “Done”.
When you are asked if you are sure to delete your account, click “Yes, delete my account”.
